Instinct

by Gábor Miklós

The heart, the soul in deep control
Animal mind dominates our lives
Lust hunger desire for power
The way we feel tension to kill

Phylogenesis preserving every age
Sophisticated freed from all the rage
Master race we stand above all creatures
Civilized, but we can't hide our true nature

We must obey the animal self
That keeps us locked in our cells
Never to learn, never to see
In ourselves our own destiny
Never to learn, never to see
The instinct setting us free

Beyond our flesh and bones
We are also just predators
Never to learn, never to see
In ourselves our own destiny
Never to learn, never to see

In our veins a taste of blood we never forget
Driven by force operating without regret
Instinct commands all our thoughts, all our actions
Animal rage mankind's ultimate disconnection

We must obey the animal self
That keeps us locked in our cells
Never to learn, never to see
In ourselves our own destiny
Never to learn, never to see
The instinct setting us free
